About Dr. Andrew Elkwood

Dr. Andrew Elkwood is a New York area native. He is a graduate of the prestigious six-year combined B.S./M.D. program at Union College, Schenectady, New York, and the Albany Medical College of Union University, Albany, New York. Upon obtaining his medical degree, Dr. Andrew Elkwood completed a general surgery residency at the New York University and Bellevue Hospital. During that same time, he received a graduate degree in finance and economics from Columbia University, New York, New York. Upon completing his surgical residency, Dr. Andrew Elkwood was chosen to continue his training at the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at the New York University Medical Center, Bellevue Hospital; Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital, which runs the world's busiest cosmetic surgery service.

Dr. Andrew Elkwood also enjoys a teaching appointment at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He lectures and publishes widely in the fields of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Andrew Elkwood is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery in both General Surgery and Plastic Surgery. He is also a fellow of the American College of Surgery (FACS) and a fellow of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, an organization of only those board certified plastic surgeons who have demonstrated superlative skills and vast experience.

Dr. Andrew Elkwood is skilled in many of the newest plastic surgery techniques. In addition to his expertise in cosmetic surgery, he is a regional, national and international expert in nerve reconstruction surgery for patients who have lost the use of a limb from nerve damage.
